Society and Culture:
The Adaireins (A-dare-ins) regard that the body, mind and spirit must be in perfect balance, or else chaos will rip them in twain. They do view themselves as protectors of beings weaker than themselves.

They have a caste system that you can go up and you can go down at the bottom are called afbrot this is just a rank any one can be a afbrot for they are criminals the rank of afbrot is not passed to their children, afbrot‘s cannot get any job unless it’s cleaning out the swears, of having new weapons tested out on them. To get out of this rank they must show that they are not of that rank any more that means that they must go the white wastes and live there for about a month, or go to the Continent for about one year many choose the white wastes, for many that have gone to the Continent have never have returned.

The rank above afbrot is borgari. The rank of borgari is that of well a citizen they can get many jobs, and merry any one it wish, of any gender, race, or what have you. All of Adaireins, is born with this rank. This rank trait is passed up to the other above them.

The rank after Borgari is drepa they train to defend the empire from all outside and internal attacks they are what you would call warriors now in the Adaireins culture all of the mores have a weapon on them, but the drepa ‘s training is what most would call insane. A new drepa is left on one of the millions of islands to fend for him or her, for a year or two that is to weed out the weak, this has a high mortality/wash out rate of 30% for death and 20% for wash out. If they make it past that they spend the next ten years training. Most are picked out after birth. This trait is passed up to the other castes.

Next rank up is the njosna they are what you call spies for the empire, they make sure that the rules and laws of the land are keep in check, and quelling rebellions when they happen. Njosna’s are what we call cops/lawyers/judges. This trait is passed up to the others castes as well.

The Rank after njosna is Hakon all members of this rank have one physical feature that only they have, it’s that they have one red eye and one eye a different color then that, they lay claim to the throne and many of the Ajaw have been from the rank of Hakon. The beings with the rank of Hakon have to make sure that the Ajaw is well, and safe. Giving their own lives to make sure that he and/or she is safe.

Lastly the last rank is the rank of Ajaw. The Ajaw that hold this rank they are known as the most powerful in the empire any whom wishes to test this, are free to try, the challenge if they win the challenge they are crowned the Ajaw somehow after they win and take their seat on the throne both of their eyes turn red like blood.

Now to mating rights that are pretty simple, the male with the most scars can get a mate easier than one without scars. If an Adaire is caught faking a scar, they must kill themselves, they may ask for help in this matter. Green eyes are viewed as extraordinarily beautiful ever since empress was crowned and she got two extremely beautiful green eyes. Family members do not take on the last names of their parents, unless they want to. Traditional clothing for Adaireins is just an ornate loincloth for men, an ornate loincloth/brazier. Government:
The Adaireins Government is very simple at the top is the Ajaw he has final say on the laws that the people in the cities, towns, villages, make. Cities, towns and villages are ruled by what that is called an Alpha he has final say on what laws are and are not passed in his home unless the Ajaw says otherwise. Dueling is a big part of the government, if you wish to move up in the ranks you must challenge one more powerful than you’re self. In a duel the two just stare at each other for 1 or so minute on average, this is the planning stage both opponents are planning out their moves the first to move most of the time will lose, to see two master Adaireins martial artist fight can go on for and an hour The Ajaw cannot rule for any longer than 20 years nor can any member of the Adaireins make that rule last longer than that, this law pre-dates the Adaireins government and culture.

When an Adaireins are tasked with a mission from the Ajaw he and/or she is fitted with a collar it is called gleipnir it both a great honor, and great insult. All that have worn it has done something great for the Adaireins.

Current leader of the empire is Ajaw Fenris Loki-son he. He is a powerful leader able to sway the masses with just a smile few under his rule complain about thing. The right of being given the throne is that the candidate must beat the Ajaw tests of body, mind, and spirit.

The test of body is easy hand to hand combat, no killing blows.

The last of the tests the test of spirit they must eat a rare fruit found on the Continent, eat it and confront their inner darkness, and overcome it.

Religion:
The Adaireins have no real religion, due to the fact then in their mytho-history they “killed and ate” their gods and goddess.

They have a form of ancestor worship they look up to the ones that came before, and look to them for strength, wisdom, balance, and power.

When they die their family makes a jade mask, and a dress made of feathers, that fits over the face, and body, so that they can fools the dead gods in to letting them in to the afterlife, if the mask and dress is poorly made they are forced to drink dirt and eat stones in the house of dust, forever as they watch the world fade in to nothing, and hear nothing by the dead gods cackling at them.

Brief History:
The current Ajaw has no blood heirs for the throne, so he has picked out a likely candidate for the throne, but he had run away not wanting that power, and that much responsibility. Another noble was picked out to search for this “prince” to bring him back alive no matter the cost to life. And if he failed he was never to return home. One of the Hakon was selected to bring the Candidate home the Hakon selected for the mission to bring him home goes by the name of [redacted].
